La Girafe Sportive

All the past we leave behind,

We debouch upon a newer mightier world, varied world,

Fresh and strong the world we seize, world of labor and the march,

Pioneers! O pioneers!

From the poem, Pioneers! O Pioneers! By Walt Whitman

So we Heroes interject a bit of melancholy surrounded by Idaho beauty in this fabric swatch of spots known as La Girafe Sportive. This Antler of Elk found amongst rock and sage brush in the Owyhee desert is meant to convey the voice of wildflowers and the hum of a Ford Explorer on this TSH roadtrip. Someday we hope, we dream, a girl and a boy will take to the red clay tennis courts of France wearing spotted La Girafe Sportive polos, whacking at yellow balls across a 36 inch high net and someday we know a young Norweigan boy will don his La Girafe Sportive Ski cap as he walks to the school bus while carrying a love letter for a girl whom he does not know.
