Whilst Matthew Modine once said this (or something similar), at the 2012 Glencoe Grand Prix we found Private Joker on someone else’s steed. Actually (in all seriousness attached to noble causes), Modine was at the crit Grand Marshaling, promoting his Bicycle for a Day campaign, and announcing a major donation of bikes to Chicago’s West Town Bikes. After all the hullabaloo, the always-jovial Michael “Cousin Mikey” Young of West Town snatched up the closest Eddy Merckx and convinced Modine to take a lap on the crit course during the pro’s warmup. The Heroes applaud Private Joker’s spirit, his noble efforts, and think next time he should lower his saddle!
