Rapha Tote Bag

A few weeks ago, Luke Hero brought graphic designers Mary Voorhees Meehan, Neil Donnelly, and Daniella Spinat to the University of Illinois to teach a workshop. The trifecta gave a brilliant lecture and presented a equally brilliant prompt– asking students to design a classified ad.

The week was full of conversation about audience and intervention over pizza and beer. A great time was had by all, including Mary’s four month old daughter Elizabeth, who from what we can tell thoroughly enjoyed her first collegiate visit.

As a token of gratitude for their time in Champaign, M, D, + N sent Luke a Rapha tote bag (ostensibly inspired by his ever-present red wool Rapha cap). Tote bags are an ideal gift– simple and practical, an interest symbol as opposed to a status symbol. Luke Hero will use the bag every time he stops by the store to pick up olives and bread and every time he will think fondly of his college week with Mary, Daniella, and Neil.

In the Hero Bag we manage to fit: Connect 4 Board Game, Two DMT Shoes, One Vittoria Open Pave Tire, 1/2 a Graziano Italian Sub, a 250 GB Hard Drive, an Oudenaarde Loves the Ronde Flag and one pair of socks from Cycling Inquisition.
