A Struggle From Venice

Thoughts on Team Leaders and Domestiques on the High Mountains of Venice Italy

In Venice we came across a small event between a sister and a younger brother as they tackled a bridge made of many large steps. There were shouts, sharp words, and frustration as bikes became entangled on what might as well have been the Passo Dello Stelvio. We chuckle but try moving two bicycles almost as big and heavy as you are backwards across a bridge in this ancient city of canals!
Our captain looking upon her lieutenant for the day shakes her head and mutters something in Italian we wish we could understand. Yes of course, moving your bicycle backwards across the bridge was not the best idea and by moving them in tandem back wheels were destined to become twisted into pedals. It was your fault! It was nobody’s fault! This will soon be over! Lets ride! Ciao-Grazie Mille-Prego-Ciao. We miss Italy…
