Flying back from Milan after visiting the folks who make our clothes we jointly cued Call Me By Your Name and watched it as we flew over the Atlantic. The film directed by Luca Guadagnino is a beautiful coming of age drama staring Timothée Chalamet as Elio and Armie Hammer as Oliver. Elio falls in love with Oliver and Oliver falls in love with Elio but being young and in love brings its torments. In the film, Elio’s archaeologist father brings them to one of his aquatic digs on Lago di Garda. Aleia and I instantly recognized the Grotte di Catullo as the location. Stuck in our cramped economy class seats we smiled knowingly at each other…we had visited the site while working on a collection in 2013.
